UCLA Partners with ReDorm to Track Move-Out Climate Impact

ReDorm, the platform that helps campus sustainability and housing teams run dorm reuse programs, today announced a partnership with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to bring measurable climate impact tracking to its move-out donation program, BruIN Move Out.
Under the partnership, UCLA will use ReDorm's inventory and impact tracking tools to record the weight, material category, and estimated emissions avoided for every item collected during move-out — turning a season that has historically been tracked on clipboards, spreadsheets, and estimates into a precise, auditable dataset. The engagement is scoped specifically to tracking the climate impact of what is being donated to external partners this move-out season, as the campus currently lacks the But UCLA hopes to expand its reuse efforts in the future, potentially including on-campus storage and redistribution programs.
“Diverting to external donation partners is simply a stepping stone towards a more complete reuse program. By partnering with ReDorm, UCLA will finally get the climate and financial data they've been needing to identify storage and staff opportunities and build towards a complete dorm reuse program.”
Diversion and emissions data captured through the partnership will feed directly into UCLA's sustainability reporting, following the same ISO 14044 and Greenhouse Gas Protocol–aligned methodology ReDorm uses across its platform.
About ReDorm
ReDorm makes dorm reuse programs easier to start and sustain, giving campus housing and sustainability teams the inventory, storefront, and impact-tracking tools to run move-out and move-in as one connected program.
