UC San Diego Partners with ReDorm for a Pilot Dorm Reuse Program

ReDorm today announced a partnership with the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego) to launch a complete, end-to-end dorm reuse program — spanning move-out collection, summer inventory processing, and a fully operational move-in storefront — run entirely on the ReDorm platform.

UC San Diego joins a small number of campuses running the full move-out-to-move-in loop rather than a donation-only collection. Partnering with ReDorm gives the program shared infrastructure for intake, storage tracking, and a branded storefront, rather than rebuilding that logistics chain in-house each year.

This partnership covers the full ReDorm workflow: student move-out donations will be collected and on-site, processed and priced by UC San Diego's team over the summer, and sold back to incoming students through a white-labeled, campus-branded storefront at move-in with scheduled pickup windows.

“UC San Diego is exactly the kind of program ReDorm was built for,” said JJ Flores, Founder of ReDorm. “They're not just diverting waste — they're running a real storefront that gets essentials back into students' hands at a fraction of retail cost, and we get to support every step of that from the first donated lamp to the final sale.”

The program launched with UC San Diego's 2026 move-out cycle, with impact and revenue reporting available to the university's housing and sustainability teams throughout.
